My Career

My chosen field of study is law enforcement. This usually falls under the category of social sciences, because a large part of police work is knowing about a criminals state of mind, what influence they have on society, and how society sometimes influences them. though there aren’t any sholars in the law enforcement field itself, many psycologists, socialogists, and humanitarians write about crime. It seems that the most frequently asked question right now is ” Why is crime on the rise in our country?” There are many thoeries, but no one has come up with a definitive answer. Many experts say the economy is to blame. There simply aren’t enough jobs to go around and people turn to crime because they have no other choice. Others blame lack of competent parenting and blame the media for this, saying that there is too much violence on television, and parents are letting the tv raise their kids. The question that i myself most want answered is ” What is the best way to keep these people off the street? “ That is why i want to become a police officer, i want to do everything i can to stop criminals from preying on innocent people.

What keeps me awake at night.

Unless i have a deadline coming up within the next few days, the only thing that keeps me up at night is my restless imagination. I love to write, and my brain is constantly coming up with new ideas or improvements to old ideas. I dont write anything serious, i like stuff like sci-fi, fantasy, and occasionally mystery and horror.

Aside from the fact that i lose a little sleep occasionally, i don’t consider this a problem. In fact i rather enjoy it. sometimes it plays out in my head like a movie, other times i read it silently to myself so i can get an idea of how it will sound when i actually write it out.

No one in my family is aware that i do this, at least as far as i know, but i don’t think they would be woried about it if they did know, so i don’t see a need to tell them. I usually keep a notebook by my bed so i can write ideas down as they come. This does have its drawbacks however. Right now i have so many ideas written down, it would take years to develop them all.
